2022 Research for Postpandemic Recovery Competition Information

Program Quick Facts

  • NFRF launched the 2022 Research for Postpandemic Recovery special call competition on February 15, with deadlines in April (NOI) and August (Full Application).
  • Review the competition requirements in the 2022 Special Call - Research for Postpandemic Recovery: Competition Overview.
    • These are 2-year awards worth a maximum of $250k per year (max. $200k per year of direct costs and max. $50k  per year in indirect costs).
    • NFRF will fund a minimum of 48 awards.
    • NFRF will reserve a proportion of awards for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) equal to the proportion of applications received from this cohort.
  • These grants support projects that directly address one or more of the research priorities outlined in the United Nation's Roadmap for COVID-19 Recovery.
  • Submissions are made using the Convergence Portal.
  • NOIs will be used for administrative purposes to compose the multidisciplinary review panel that will conduct reviews of the Full Application.
  • There are five selection criteria:
    • Interdisciplinarity/Fit to program (pass/fail)
    • EDI (pass/fail)
    • High Risk (30%)
    • High Reward (40%)
    • Feasibility (30%)
